Meet Emeka Offor, NIPC’s Acting Executive Secretary/CEO

On Friday, September 24, 2021, the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, (NIPC), Ms. Yewande Sadiku ended her five year tenure.

Ms. Sadiku, the 7th NIPC Executive Secretary handed over the baton to the Commission’s most senior Director, Director of Human Resources Management, Mr. Emeka Offor in acting capacity.

The hand-over ceremony held at the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment and was supervised by the Minister of State in the Ministry, Ambassador Maryam Katagum.

TheFact Nigeria takes a brief look at Mr. Emeka Offor, the man, his career and journey so far into the public service.

He has developed competence and expertise spanning over 26 years in banking, corporate governance, research, negotiation, investment promotion, public policy development and strategic communications.

Mr. Emeka Offor is driven by a passion to solve business challenges on a sustainable basis.

Prior to assuming the role of Acting Executive Secretary/CEO, he was the Director, Human Resources Management, a position he still occupies while in acting capacity as ES/CEO at the NIPC.

He had worked with leading banks in Nigeria at strategic levels where his contributions resulted in quantum leaps for the banks.

Mr. Offor began his career in banking at the then Diamond Bank where he later became Head of Treasury.

Before he joined the NIPC, he was a Senior Management Executive at Zenith Bank between 1999 and 2013.

Since he joined the NIPC, because of his versatility and managerial prowess, he has headed six different Departments at various times.

A First Class scholar, he has an MSc in Corporate Governance from Leeds Beckett University, Leeds, United Kingdom, an MBA from the University of Lagos amongst other qualifications and certifications.

He also worked in different capacities in the Public Service including Director, Real Sector; Director, National Competitiveness & Policy Advocacy, Director, Investment Facilitation & Incentives Administration, and Director, Investment Promotion, Director, Strategic Communications and Director, Human Resources Development.

Mr. Emeka Offor is a conference speaker and a fellow of the Society of Project Management and Development Professionals International.

Mr. Offor has interests in nature watch and development issues.
