INEC Final List For Anambra Guber: AA Rejects Etiaba

The Action Alliance, (AA) has insisted that the name of the candidate on the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) final list for the Anambra November 6, 2021 governorship election is not the candidate the party presented to the electoral umpire.

National Chairman of the Action Alliance, Chief (Barr) Kenneth Udeze said this in reaction to the ‘illegal’ exclusion of the authentic AA candidate, Chief John Okechukwu Ikeotuonye from the final list of candidates shortlisted by INEC.

TheFact Nigeria recalls that the INEC on October 7, 2021, released the final list of governorship candidates for the forthcoming Anambra election.

On the list, Etiaba Chukwuogo and Uchebo Mwao were published as governorship and deputy governorship candidates respectively, of the AA.

In his reaction also, Chief Udeze said that the party was disappointed with INEC and had already headed to Court.

Chief Udeze said: “As for the list INEC published yesterday, Action Alliance is not aware. That is INEC’s candidate, not Action Alliance’s candidate.

“We saw the final list that was shortlisted by INEC yesterday and I must say that our party, the Action Alliance is totally disappointed with INEC.

“They know very well that the issue of the legitimate candidate of AA is in Court, but they went ahead and while this matter is pending in Court, to shortlist the name of somebody that we don’t even know, he’s not a member of the party.

“I don’t want to talk much on this but I know that at the end of the day, justice will have its course because already, the party is in a pre-election matter before an FCT High Court.

“The matter has been adjourned to the 20th of October, 2021 for continuation of hearing. I believe in the Nigerian Judiciary and I know that at the end of the day, justice must be done.”

The Action Alliance had during the party’s primaries on July 1, 2021 in Awka, Anambra State, elected Chief John Okechukwu Ikeotuonye as its governorship candidate.

The duo of Chief John Ikeotuonye as his deputy were handed-over their Certificates of Return by the Action Alliance National Chairman, Chief Kenneth Udeze at the party’s headquarters in Abuja.
