JAMB Unveils 2021 Completed/ Ongoing Projects

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has unveiled series of completed and ongoing construction projects across the country.

JAMB disclosed this on Monday, December 27, 2021 in its weekly publication, JAMBulletin.

TheFact Nigeria gathered that the Board remitted 3.51 billion naira as 2021 Operating Surplus, notwithstanding the numerous construction it embarked on.

JAMBulletin posited that the Board, under the present leadership, had leveraged on the legacies of past administrations to catapult the Board to enviable heights.

It read:
“As an illustration, towards the end
of last year, close to twenty mega projects costing billions of naira were completed and commissioned for use while the few under construction were completed early this year.

“Given the avalanche of projects completed, with some executed in conjunction with the Nigerian Communications Commission(NCC), one would have thought that, going forward, the Board would be financially spent and would not be able to embark on any further projects especially given its consistent remittances to the Federal Government coffers, but that was not to be.

“As 2021 comes to an end, JAMBULLETIN took stock of some ongoing projects being undertaken by the Board and concluded that, indeed, there is nothing that prudent management of resources cannot engender as the quantum of completed
and ongoing projects attested to.

“It is to be noted that this success story is borne out of the belief that much could be achieved irrespective of resources available once the will to do the right thing is there.

“The result is the many mega Computer-Based Test centres that keep springing up across the country on a scale that is
unimaginable some years ago. This is being done in tandem with the construc tion and rehabilitation of offices, accommodation for staff in line with the belief that the provision of a conducive working environment is a sine qua non for improved service delivery.

“It is also worthy of note that apart from
those projects being graciously executed by the Nigerian Communications
Commission(NCC), many Professional
Test Centres (PTCs) and offices are being financed from the surplus approved for the Board by the government to finance its operations”, JAMBulletin stated.

The completed projects include:
JAMB National Headquarters Bwari, Kano zonal office,Kebbi,Kogi, Lafia, Oshogbo,Owerri, Portharcourt, Taraba, Awka, Akure, Abeokuta offices amongst others.

Furthermore, the Board boasted of creating positive impact by the institution of the National Tertiary Admissions Performance Merit Award (NATAP-M Award) as Awardee Institutions embarked on critical projects in their campuses with the prize money (75million Naira each).
