JAMB Okays CBT Centers To Register Candidates For Specialised Programs

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board(JAMB) has granted accredited Computer Based Test (CBT) centers the permission to register candidates for Part-time, Sandwich, Distance Learning Programs and the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

JAMB announced this in its weekly bulletin publication on Monday, February 21, 2021.

TheFact Nigeria observed that prior to the announcement, only the Board had the exclusive right to register such candidates.

According to the Board, candidates could visit any CBT centre nearest to them nationwide to access register for any of the aforementioned programs and Institution as from Tuesday, February 22, 2022.

It noted that the particular service being liberalised was the registration of candidates who wished to obtain application forms for Part-Time, Sandwich, National Open University of Nigeria(NOUN)and Distance Learning programmes.

It said the Board decided to decongest the huge crowds being witnessed at its various facilities, therefore, candidates did not have to visit the Board’s offices in order to get registered as it could be done at all registered CBT centres nationwide.

Stating some terms and conditions guiding the agreement, JAMB said:

“Accredited CBT centres are, by this
announcement, cautioned not to charge
more than the regulated N700 service charge for registration into the aforementioned programmes.

“These categories of candidates are not
part of the newly-introduced cashless policy and, are, therefore, to pay N700 at the registration point using ATM cards.

“However, UTME/DE candidates are to note that the service charge for the application documents is already included as part of their e-PIN fees in line”, it said.
