Former Force Public Relations Officer, Dies In Abuja

Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), in charge of Zone 16 Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, and erstwhile Force spokesperson, AIG Donald Ngorngor Awunah, is dead.

This was disclosed in a press release by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi earlier today.

TheFact Nigeria gathers that Awunah passed away in the early hours of today, Monday 23rd May, 2022, at Garki Hospital, Abuja, after a brief illness.

Adejobi said that the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, announcing the sad event on behalf of the Force Management team, and Officers of the Nigeria Police Force, described Awunah as an eminent communicator and ardent officer.

AIG Awunah who was a member of the National Institute, got enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on 15th March, 1988. He was a dedicated officer with great passion for training and development and was at a time the Commandant, Police Staff College, Jos. He hailed from Benue State.

“The Inspector-General of Police, acknowledges his resourcefulness and commitment to duty. He hereby condoles with the immediate family, relatives, fellow course mates, and friends of the deceased AIG who passed away in active service of his fatherland and prays for the repose of his soul”, Adejobi stated.
