Anambra Guber: Action Alliance Writes INEC, Submits Delegates, Aspirants List

The Action Alliance has written to the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) ahead of the Anambra governorship primary scheduled for July 1, 2021.

This was contained in a letter addressed to the INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu by the Action Alliance legal team, S. C. Uchendu Chambers, (Barristers & Solicitors) in Abuja.

Accompanying the letter signed by S. C. Uchendu Chambers, the Party submitted delegates list, guidelines, list of aspirants, list of planning committee members and agenda of the Action Alliance for the Anambra State governorship primary scheduled for July 1, 2021.

The letter reads: “We are Solicitors to Barr. (Chief) Kenneth O. Udeze of the Action Alliance (AA), and all other National Executive Officers of Action Alliance (hereinafter called our clients) on whose instructions and behalf we do hereby write you.

“Our Clients have informed us of further follow up of the earlier Notice to you, issued with respect to our Client’s Party’s Anambra State Governorship Primary.

“Attached herewith is the mandatory accompanying documents of the Party primary duly endorsed by the legitimate and substantive Chairman and the Secretary respectively of the Action Alliance, (AA).

Also, in a letter dated June 22, 2021, addressed to the INEC Chairman, the Action Alliance through its National Chairman, Chief Barr. Kenneth Udeze, and National Secretary, Mr. Vernimbe James, submitted delegates list, list of election/electoral committee, guidelines, list of aspirants, list of planning committee and agenda of the Party’s Anambra State governorship primaries scheduled for July 1, 2021.

The letter reads: “We write to submit the above named accompanied documents for the conduct of our Party’s Governorship primaries for Anambra State fixed July 1, 2021 which the notice had earlier been issued to the Commission dated 4th June 2021.

“Please find attached herewith accompanied documents for the Governorship Primaries as required.”

Documents sighted by Thefact Nigeria included list of delegates for the Action Alliance 2021 Anambra State primaries scheduled for July 1, 2021.

The list contained the names of five delegates, each from all the 21 Local Government Areas of Anambra State.

Others included the list of election/electoral committee for the conduct of Action Alliance 2021 Governorship Primaries for Anambra State scheduled for July 1, 2021.

The committee was headed by the Party’s National Secretary, Mr. Vernimbe James with four other members.

Also submitted was a list of planning/organising committee members for the Action Alliance 2021 Anambra governorship primaries with Alex Anah as Chairman and four others as members.

Other documents contained a list of the six aspirants contesting the Action Alliance 2021 Anambra governorship primaries, guidelines for the conduct of the primaries as signed by Action Alliance National Chairman, Chief Kenneth Udeze and National Secretary, Vernimbe James as well as Action Alliance’s agenda for the primaries.
