Buhari Cheers US’ Support For Okonjo-Iweala’s WTO Top Job

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that his country is pleased with the decision of the United States of America to remove the last obstacle in the path of Nigeria’s Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala in her bid to becoming the Director General of the World Trade Organization, (WTO).

The very delighted Muhammadu Buhari therefore said that Nigeria looks forward to working with the new administration of President Joe Biden on issues of common interests such as speedy economic growth, fight against terrorism and deepening progress on other developmental issues.

On his verified twitter handle, @MBuhari wrote: “Today, we see that the United States stands with Nigeria and Africa with the acceptance of our widely respected citizen, Okonjo-Iweala, to lead the World Trade Organization, (WTO).

“We welcome the decision of the new United States of America, (U.S.A) administration to remove the last obstacle in the path of @NOIweala

“We look forward to working very closely with the new U.S administration on this and all issues of common interests, especially in such areas as accelerated economic growth, fight against terrorism and deepening progress on development issues.”
