Candidates Laud JAMB As 2023 UTME Commences

Candidates sitting for the 2023 Unified Teritary Matriculation Examination (UTME) have commended the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for conducting a hitch free examination.

It could be recalled that no fewer than 1.5 million candidates were slated to write the 2023 UTME in 708 centres nationwide.

According to JAMB, the UTME will start on Monday and end on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.

One of the candidates, Obinna Amako at the Global Distance Learning, Computer Based Test (CBT) centre, Abuja lauded JAMB for the process, while enjoining them to work on time management.

He said, “there are no hitches before or during the exam in general. The exam was smooth, the computers were running well and no issues in general.

“I feel that JAMB should continue like this because the exam was actually good, just work on the timing. If we start, if they said 6:30am they shouldn’t be too long, but aside from the delays, everything else is good”.

Another candidate, Elder Clinton said, “it was actually okay. And this is my first time writing JAMB so I wasn’t actually expecting the timeframe. I will say I did try, there was no issue with the system, everything was nice.

“Exactly, what I was expecting, everything was okay. There’s no problem with the system. Everything was accurate, no challenge at all.

“The advice I would give to them is meeting the timeframe because when we came we had to wait so I don’t know the time we entered the hall”.

Also speaking, another candidate, Zakari Ojenekeche stated, “it is my first time so I’m just counting on God to help. The questions I would say is 50/ 50 some were difficult but the exam generally was very nice. We had a lot of teachers that helped us, like if you had a problem, you could raise your hand and they will come and assist you”.

On his part, one of the High Power Leaders (HPL) of JAMB, Abdulrahman Balogun in an interview at the center said that the conduct so far was very excellent, noting that the Board had improved.

According to him, the rate of absentees in the exam was really high adding that JAMB had done a wonderful work.
