The remaining events at the ongoing annual conference organised by the Chief Of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai, for the year 2020, has been cancelled following reports that an officer who participated in the events of Tuesday, 8th December, tested positive to Covid-19.

In a statement issued today by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen. Sagir Musa, the incident has resulted in all participants at the event having to proceed on mandatory self-isolation, in keeping with the Federal Government’s COVID-19 protocols, and to prevent further spread of the virus.

In a related development, the Chief of Army Staff has been constrained to scale down the number of dignitaries, invited guests and attendees at his son, Hamisu Tukur Buratai’s Wedding Fatiha, slated for Friday, 11 December, as most of the participants at the conference event will not be in attendance.

‘…General Buratai will be unable to personally attend to, receive or meet you at the event (wedding). All inconveniences are hereby regretted please’, the statement read in part.
