Covid-19: NIMC Shuts Down Some Enrollment Centres

The National Identity Management Commision, NIMC, today shut down a number of enrollment centres across the country, as a result of non-adherence to the Covid-19 pandemic prevention protocols.

This is according to a statement addressed to the general public via the Commission’s social media handle.

As a control measure, the Commission would be adopting a number-issuing style in the meantime, whereby a determined number of applicants for enrollment will be issued daily on a first-come-first-served basis. This is with a view to managing the crowd in line with established covid-19 regulations.

The statement expresses the Commission’s regret for any inconvenience the action may have caused, while giving assurances of its commitment to continue to devise ways to serve the public better.
