Dotun Reacts To Rema’s Dispute With DJ Neptune

Nigeria Musician Rema.

Rema has revealed that he wasn’t paid for the ‘For You’ single with DJ Neptune.

The Mavin Records-signed singer had earlier called out DJ Neptune for copyright infringement.

He said the disc jockey put his collaborative song on his ‘Greatness 2.0‘ album without his consent.

Dotun, the radio host and OAP, blamed Rema for approaching the dispute in a harsh manner.

“I love Rema a lot. I hosted his first-ever listening. He just needs to find a better approach to things like this,” he said.

“You all recorded this together, we were not there. He also needs to address things with his representatives. Trust me, this won’t be more than a mere miscommunication.”

In response to Dotun’s claims, Rema denied being arrogant to the situation.

The singer also indicated that the track was not a joint recording between him and DJ Neptune.

He stated that he was neither paid nor did he consent to the release.

“We didn’t record it together, neither was I paid, neither did I sign any document, neither did the producer ask for my consent before releasing my stems,” Rema wrote in a follow-up tweet.

“I was crossed, I’m not a hothead, I’m just a kid vouching for my Art that’s all, I’m not a disrespectful person.”
