Governor Wike Sacks Environment Commissioner

Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike has terminated the appointment of the state’s Commissioner for Environment, Igbiks Tamuno.

The governor in a statement by his Special Assistant on media, Kelvin Eberi, has directed the commissioner to submit all government documents and properties in his possession to the Permanent Secretary in the ministry.

TheFact Nigeria gathered that the governor  appointed Tamuno as Rivers State Commissioner for Environment in 2019.

However, no reason was given for the commissioner’s sack.

According to the statement, “The governor directed the sacked Commissioner to submit all Government Documents and Property in his possession to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment”.
