IGP Welfare Scheme: Beneficiaries Receive N1.25m In Kano

The Kano State Police Command, under its Inspector General of Police (IGP) Family Welfare Insurance Scheme, has distributed cheques worth One Million, Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N1,250,000)6 to beneficiaries in the State.

The cheques, four in number, were presented on Wednesday, 25 August, by the Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, to two police officers for medical expenses, and two next-of-kin to deceased police officers.

TheFact Nigeria had reported that Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, had, in July, announced a new Nigeria Police Manpower Development Policy, part of which prioritizes human capacity development and welfare of Police Officers for better police service delivery.

During the presentation, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko charged the beneficiaries to judiciously use the money for the up keep and welfare of the families, emphasizing that the welfare scheme was meant to ameliorate the suffering or hardship faced by the deceased colleagues’ immediate family before the benefits of such officers were paid.

The beneficiaries, overwhelmed with the gesture of the IGP promised to make good use of the money as it comes in time of need.
