Lagos Gov Hails Nigerian Journalists On World Press Day

Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has celebrated the Nigerian press and journalists for their roles in societal development.

He said that the theme of this year’s celebration, “Information as a Public Good” is very apt in the sense that with the right information, the government & the governed will understand issues and act for the good of the public.

The Governor made this known on his official Twitter handle, @jidesanwo-olu.

@jidesanwo-olu wrote: “On this year’s celebration of World Press Freedom Day, I celebrate the Nigerian press and our journalists for their roles in the development of our society.

“Around the world, the press mirrors the society, exposes ills, and bridges the gap between the government and the people to create mutual understanding and cooperation.

“The theme of this year’s celebration, “Information as a Public Good” is very apt in the sense that with the right information, the government & the governed will understand issues and act for the good of the public.”
