NIPC, Striking Staff Call Truce, Set To Re-open Monday

With the signing of the agreements, between the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, (NIPC) and its striking staff, the Commission’s head office complex is warming up to open every working day from Monday, July 20, 2020, from 9am to 2pm in line with the federal government’s safety guidelines for staff and visitors.

A statement signed by the management said the NIPC is pleased to announce that negotiations with the leadership of the NIPC Staff Union on their unexpected industrial action have been concluded.

The statement reads: “After extensive discussions with union officials over several days, two agreements were signed by all parties on July 17, 2020 to bring the week-long industrial action to an end.

“Other parties to the signed agreements were the NIPC Governing Council, Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, (FMITI), Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, and Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria.

“The management appreciates all stakeholders whose intervention facilitated the resolution of the industrial action and affirms its commitment to the implementation of the terms of the signed agreements.

“The management wishes to reiterate its commitment to staff welfare and to continually prioritize development and dialogue with staff and relevant stakeholders. We look forward to working with the Governing Council, the leadership of the Staff Unions, all staff of the Commission and stakeholders to maintain a conducive work environment, one that ensures the attainment of the Commission’s goals and objectives”.
