NPHCDA To Train 12,000 Health Workers On Covid-19 Vaccine Administration

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) has announced its decision to build the capacity of over 12,000 health care workers across the country to empower them to manage and administer Covid-19 vaccines effectively.

The body which is mandated with the responsibility of Promoting health, manpower development needed for Primary Health Care through orientation and continuing education, made this known through her twitter handle, @NphcdaNG

TheFact Nigeria gathered that, Health care workers have been at the forefront in curbing the covid-19 pandemic and are the worst hit. Considering the perculiarities of the virus and vaccine, the 2- day training is timely and will stall further casualties.

According to NPHCDA, “By the end of the 2-day training, participants are expected to have improved knowledge and skill on handling, storage, distribution, administration and waste management of the COVID-19 Vaccine.

“Also, improved knowledge and skill on micro-planning process, demand creation and mobilizing communities for COVID-19 vaccination.

“Finally, participants will be familiar with current practices in surveillance and management of AEFI for the COVID-19 vaccine and plans for monitoring, supervision and COVID-19 vaccine Post Introduction Evaluation”, the agency said.
