NYSC DG Tasks Corps Members On Community Service

The Director General of National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Yusha’u Dogara Ahmed has urged Corps Members to leave good memories in their host communities by initiating and executing projects that would positively affect their living standard.

NYSC Director, Press and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday, February 6, 2023.

Megwa informed that the NYSC Boss gave the charge to Corps Members at the NYSC Kano State Orientation Camp in Kusala Dam-Karaye.

Brigadier General Ahmed also told them to, “be security conscious, believe in yourself, and wherever you are posted, God will help you realize your dreams there. Please don’t allow anyone to change your destiny”.

The DG further advised them to acquire vocational skills through the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme.

He said many of their predecessors that embraced the programme some years ago, were now business owners creating jobs for others.

General Ahmed added that Management introduced the programme in order to empower Corps Members become wealth creators instead of searching for the unavailable paid jobs.

He charged the Corps Members to use their knowledge, experience and also harness their potentials to create an independent future for themselves.

Speaking further, the Director General urged the Corps Members to leave good memories in their host communities by initiating and executing projects that will positively affect their living standard.

The NYSC Kano State Coordinator, Hajia Aisha Tata Mohammed said the Corps Members since their arrival in camp had been well behaved, resourceful and demonstrated high sense of responsibility and loyalty to the Scheme.
