The Primate of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) and Archbishop of Abuja diocese, Most Rev Henry Ndukuba, Bishop of Abuja diocese, has urged christians across the country to remain steadfast in the Lord, in the face of the challenges confronting the nation.

The primate gave the admonition, Saturday, during the church’s 2021 carnival for Christ with the theme, “A very Present Help”, taken from the book of Psalms 46 Vs 1.

TheFact Nigeria notes that the cleric tasked christians on the need to promote peace, and remain law abiding at all times, as part of their contributions to moving the nation forward.

According to him, christians are advised to look unto God, no matter the situation they found themselves in.

This was as Ndukuba noted the God, who created man, would not forsake his people, adding that he alone would bring solutions and desired needs, at his appointed time.

Speaking on the carnival, he explained that it was a means of appreciating and praising God for all he has done in the lives of his children, from January till year end, while hoping for he best next year.

While encouraging the faithful to indulge in godly acts by praying without ceasing, the Primate stated that only the almighty God was dependable and faithful in these turbulent times.

“What people are going through, economically, socially and religiously, can be endured only god can cause and war to stop”, he said.

He called for unity and peace, adding that godly acts alone were to be displayed as christians, in order to have a better society.

The primate added that the colourful cultural displays from various branches depicted the unity and oneness through christ.

Earlier in his sermon taken from Psalm 41:1, and entitled, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble”, Rev Timothy Yahaya of Kaduna Diocese, had noted that, true christians can only be recognised in times of trials and tribulations, by keeping faith.

Yahaya said with God all things were possible and all impossiblities could be reverted, if we prayed and believed.

The bishop urged Nigerians to also pray for their leaders to lead right.

He prayed for the youth to always strive for truth, while also shunning social vices, with a view to guaranteeing a better future.
