Protests At TCN Over Removal Of MD

There is widespread protest at the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) headquarters in Abuja over the removal of Mr Usman Gur Mohammed as the Managing Director on Tuesday.

The members of the unions comprising the Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies (SSAEAC) and the Nigerian Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) at TCN branch were outside the Power House building housing TCN headquarters and the Federal Ministry of Power, chanting protest songs.

The Minister of Power, Engr. Sale Mamman, on Tuesday announced the removal of the TCN head. He was replaced by Engr. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz as the head of TCN in acting capacity, with immediate effect.

Abdulaziz was the Regional Transmission Manager (RTM), Abuja Region of TCN.
