The PTDF In-Country Scholarship Scheme is one of the Scholarship Programmes of the Fund designed to provide Nigerian students with the requisite intellectual abilities and skill sets needed to participate actively in Nigeria’s oil, energy, and gas industry after their studies in federal universities across Nigeria.

The In-Country Scholarship boss who said, the candidates were
selected from the federal universities, said, the interview was holding in Abuja and five other locations simultaneously.

“We have Bayero University Kano, University of Ibadan, University of Port Harcourt, University of Nigeria Nsukka, and Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi. These centres cover the six geopolitical zones including the south east.”

To ensure transparency during the interview process, officials of the Federal Character Ccommission (FCC) were present across the centres to monitor the process until Saturday 18th of June 2022 when the interview will end.

She said, “Each day, we are expected to interview an average of 353 candidates per centre for interview every day and candidates had the opportunity to pick any centre of their choice, and they also had the choice to pick the virtual interview option.”

Ms Ogbomo also said from the 3,237 shortlisted candidates, the number to be picked for the scholarship will be determined by the management after appraising the interview.

She also noted that the candidates were drawn from five fields of studies comprising engineering, geology, computing, environmental and management, adding that, “we have experts in all these fields.”

The official further charged the panellists, consisting of professors and senior lecturers, to treat every candidate with equality during the process.

He said: “I like to congratulate you on your selection as panellists for the 2022 PTDF scholarship.

“This programme is taking place simultaneously in other five locations. You are expected to interview post graduate candidates for PhD and M.Sc.

“The candidates are expected to pick options of virtual session for the interview or come physically to the centres,” she said.
