UNICEF Hails Rescue Of 50 Children In Ondo

Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Nigeria, Peter Hawkins has commended the rescue of more than 50 children abducted and held against their will in Ondo State.

This was contained in a statement issued by UNICEF Nigeria on Sunday, July 3, 2022.

TheFact Daily recalls that, Ondo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed that the Police rescued 50 children hidden in the basement of a church in Ondo state on Friday, July 1, 2022.

Commending the rescue of the children, Peter Hawkins said, “Children should not be targets of violence in whatever guise. Violence against children is condemnable and we call on governments to redouble efforts to protect children against all forms of violence. A society’s health is measured by how it treats its children.”
