Buhari’s Foreign Engagements In Nation’s Interest – Amb Commassie
President Muhammadu Buhari’s official visits to foreign nations, and other diplomatic shuttles, will advance the cause of Nigeria among the comity of nations.
A United Nations (UN) envoy, Ambassador Hussaini Commassie made the position, Thursday, in a statement he personally signed.
TheFact Nigeria reports that in the few weeks, President Buhari had undertaken official visits to Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom (UK), France, and South Africa.
Speaking on the development, the envoy commended the President for the visits, expressing optimism that same will yield positive, multi-lateral outcomes
According to him, such international engagements provided platforms for talks on bilateral and multi-lateral issues.
In his estimation, the diplomatic shuttles can never be quantified, especially against the backdrop of their impacts on foreign direct binvestment (FDI), foreign relations and the like.
He maintained that Nigerians in those countries will certainly feel some sense of oneness, and also have an opportunity to draw attention to basic issues of concern to them.
“There is gainsaying the fact that Nigerians will gain more from the visit. More investments and investors will relocate to Nigeria. It was an opportunity for the President to share with host countries what his administration is doing to make life much more better.
“And I am convinced that he has done. And I want to say welcome back to the country. Nigeria is a great country. Let us continue to support him with prayer so that he can breakthrough in his policies and programs for the nation”, Commassie noted.
