Denrele Edun To Host 2021 BON Awards
Popular Nigerian TV personality, Denrele Edun, has been selected as the host for 2021 Best of Nollywood (BON) awards.
This announcement was made via a statement on Saturday by the organisers of the annual BON awards.
The 2021 BON Awards ceremony is set to hold on December 11, in Lokoja, Kogi state.
It was also disclosed that the host governor, Yahaya Bello has promised to make the event a memorable one.
Denrele will be leading Nollywood actors to Kogi ahead of the event.
The organisers said:“Based on the buzz he has been generating, attendees are in for a roller-coaster of activities, especially since the host governor of this 12th edition, Yahaya Bello has promised a BON Awards like no other”.
“With a promise like that from a man of quality repute, paired with Denrele’s energy, Kogi BON as many have taken to calling it, is certain to be a spectacle of entertainment excellence.”
Denrele Edun started his TV career as an actor at age 11 when he played a presenter/producer on Kiddievision 101 on NTA.
He continued his career as a model when he was a student of Unilag, before he joined Sound City as a presenter.
He joins past hosts of the 2021 BON Awards like Debo Macaroni, Tana Adelana, Gbenga Adeyinka, and Helen Paul
Speaking on why Denrele was chosen as the host, Seun Oloketuyi, BON founder, said:
“You said why Denrele. I say why not? Denrele is a brand that needs no introduction or explanation.
“He is an industry staple that has done so much, which is one of the qualities BON Awards holds dear.”
It was earlier revealed that the 2021 BON will be honouring industry icons like Abiola ‘Madam Kofo’ Atanda, Africa Magic, and the late industry titan Chico Ejiro with special recognition awards.
