The Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi has said the new year would witness maximum impact on the Renewed Hope agenda on road infrastructure revolution.
Umahi in his new year message said 2026 was a year of accelerating the construction of the Renewed Hope legacy projects as well as the rehabilitation of the existing federal roads nationwide.
He added that “challenges will come, but they must be seen as opportunities for growth and transformation; they must be seen as a propeller, which pushes you out of your comfort zones and helps you develop new skills, perspectives and strengths so as to achieve better versions of yourselves and experience personal growth and change”.
The Minister also stated, “for us in the Federal Ministry of Works, the new year is a time to recalibrate our mechanisms towards achieving maximum impact on the Renewed Hope agenda on road infrastructure revolution; it is a time to step up monitoring mechanisms and supervisions geared towards accelerating the construction of the Renewed Hope legacy projects as well as the rehabilitation of the existing federal roads nationwide”.
He commended the management and staff of the Ministry for their strength of character, tenacity of purpose, hard work, and unshakable zeal to revamp Nigeria’s road infrastructure, and looks forward to further cooperation this year.
“I am incredibly fortunate to work for the most impressive and visionary leader, His Excellency,Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria who has continued to wield a strong willpower through policy regeneration and creative funding mechanisms including his efforts to foster private sector inclusion in the development of our road infrastructure.
“I thank him immensely for the innovations he adopted and interventions he provided to make the roads constructed or rehabilitated under his administration stand the test of time.
