JAMB Delists 23 CBT Centres, Blacklist One After Mock UTME

By Alice Etuka, Abuja

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), following the conduct of the 2026 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), has delisted 23 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres for technical deficiencies.

JAMB Spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin who announced this in a statement on Friday said the Board also issued warnings to centres with minor technical issues, while one centre would no longer to be used in any of the Board’s examinations.

“The Mock UTME, introduced to enable candidates familiarise themselves with the Computer-Based Test (CBT) environment, also serves as a critical platform for the Board to assess its level of preparedness. It provides an opportunity to identify centres that fall short of the required operational and technical standards.

“In the aftermath of the 2026 Mock UTME, the Board’s internal review mechanisms identified a number of centres that failed to meet these standards. Consequently, the Board has taken decisive steps, in line with its commitment to maintaining the integrity of its examination processes, to ensure that only centres that are fully prepared and compliant participate in the main UTME exercise”, he said.

Centres affected by the delisting span across 11 states, namely Abia, Anambra, Bayelsa, Delta, Edo, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Oyo, and Plateau.

One Lagos-based centre, Ha-Shem Academy in Yaba, however was blacklisted, disqualifying it from being used for UTME forever.
