Alkali Solicits Reconstruction Of Some Federal Roads In North Eastern States

The Minister of Transportation, Senator Said Alkali has solicited a total reconstruction of the Gombe- Dukku- Darazo and Gombe – Bajoga – Nafada- Potiskum roads following their deplorable condition.

The minister made the appeal when
he visited the Minister of Works, Engineer David Umahi in Abuja, according to a statement made available on Thursday by his Special Assistant, Media and Publicity, Umar Jibril.

Alkali said the inclusion of the project into the 2025 appropriation will help in no small measure towards boosting the economic well-being of the populace.

He maintained that the roads connect Bauchi, Yobe, Borno, Kano and other States in the North West where the major human activities include farming, animal husbandry and trading.

The Senator added that the infrastructure when provided would improve the socio-economic status of the affected communities, thereby discouraging rural urban drift.

Responding, the Minister of Works, Engineer David Umahi assured that no stone would be left unturned by his Ministry towards redeeming the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to Umahi, bringing succour to Nigerians remains the cardinal principle of the present administration.
