
Minister of Transportation, Senator Said Alkali, has called for unity and collective effort towards sustainable community development in Nigeria
Alkali made the call on Wednesday when he received members of the Tangale East Progressive Union (TEPU) on a courtesy visit to his office in Abuja.
The Minister reiterated that government bears the responsibility of ensuring the welfare and security of its citizens.
He added that credible engagement and empowerment of the populace help reduce social vices, stressing his commitment to improving the well-being of his people through his position in government.
Describing Gombe people as culturally rich and harmonious, Alkali commended TEPU for their dedication to mutual support and peacebuilding.
Minister Alkali noted that Gombe remains one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria and urged the Union to continue promoting unity and entrepreneurship within the community.
Alkali in a statement by the Director, Information and Public Relations, Janet Noah pledged his continued support for the association.
Earlier, Dr. Jarida Haruna Doji, Chairman of the Tangale East Progressive Union, Abuja branch, said the visit was to appreciate the Minister for his contributions and consistent support to the community.
Doji praised Alkali’s openness and willingness to engage with them, noting that his kindness and efforts toward inclusivity have had a meaningful impact on their members.
He reaffirmed TEPU’s commitment to strengthening unity and supporting the Minister’s developmental efforts.
