Another Major Shake-up As IGP Orders Posting Of Senior Officers
The Nigeria Police Force, NPF has witnessed another major shake-up followiing the posting and redeployment of some of its senior officers by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba.
The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement on Thursaday, said the order is in line with the Police Chief’s effort to achieve maximum impact of community-based and strategic policing on the society.
Accirding to the IGP’s order of postings which take immediate effect, CP Okon Okon Effiong now heads the Department of Finance and Administration ICT, Force Headquarters, Abuja, while CP Zachariah A. Fera, is redeployed to Force Criminal Investigation (FCID) Annex Enugu. CP Nwonyi Polycarp Emeka has been posted to Rivers State Command, while CP Gyogon Augustine Grimah has been redeployed to Cross River State Command.
The IGP tasked the CPs to deploy all requisite assets in ensuring sanity, professional standards and discipline in all ramifications in their new places of assignment.
While further charging the senior police officers to effectively apply their wealth of experiences to improving existing structural arrangements towards achieving a citizen-focused and community-oriented policing system, IGP Baba also called for support and cooperation from members of the public to enable the newly posted senior officers to function optimally on their mandate.
Barely four weeks ago, Kano, Delta, FCT and nine other State Police Commands across the country experienced a change of leadership baton following the immediate deployment of Commissioners of Police by the IGP, whose recommendations for posting snd redeployment had earlier been approved by the Police Service Commission, PSC.
