Breaking: Jangebe Schoolgirls Regain Freedom
The kidnapped schoolgirls of the Government Secondary School in Jangebe, Zamfara State have been released.
About 317 school girls were on Friday abducted by bandits from the school premises though but seven were reported to have escaped and returned home several hours later on the same day.
TheFact Nigeria notes that the release of the schoolgirls, which was confirmed by the state government, is coming barely 48 hours after the US called on the Nigerian government to ensure their immediate release.
According to information, the schoolgirls were on Sunday gathered at the palace of the emir of Anka waiting for transportation to Gusau, the state capital.
Details of their release as well as the number of those released are, however, yet to be confirmed.
More details to follow as events unfold.
