PDP Expels Wike, Anyanwu, Fayose, Others

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at its ongoing 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, has expelled high-profile members Nyesom Wike, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), former Governor Ayo Fayose, Hon. Austin Nwachukwu, and several others for Anti-Party Activities.

PDP explained that the landmark move was intended to restore unity, discipline, and focus ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to the party, the decision which was ratified by an overwhelming majority of delegates, also underscored the party’s commitment to eradicating internal divisions and anti-party conduct that have plagued its progress.

The motion for the expulsion of the members follows gross breaches of the party’s Constitution.
PDP noted the fundamental principle that a political party is a voluntary organization and members are expected to join it out of their volition as allowed by Section 40 of the Constitution of the FRN 1999 (as amended) and are to be bound by its fundamental principles and aspirations as expressed in its Constitution.
Clarifying that the persons mentioned above have committed various breaches of the Party’s Constitution including supporting and canvassing votes for opposition.
