The alleged shooting of a young boy to death by a Catholic priest has left residents of Amaimo community, Ikeduru local government area of Imo state, in a state of shock.
The incident, which occured on New year’s Day, was confirmed by the state Command’s spokesperson, Henry Okoye, on Thursday
TheFact Daily gathers that the incident reportedly happened at the St Columbus Catholic Church, Amaimo, when the Catholic priest picked up a firearm and shot the young boy who was said to have thrown a knockout banger into the church premises.
Residents of the community have condemned the action by the Catholic priest, and have called for a proper investigation and arrest of the suspect.
Okoye said the Command will be conducting a thorough investigation to unravel the circumstances that led to the tragedy, while assuring that the outcome of the investigation, upon conclusion, will be made public.
