Three Nigerian communication campaigns have been shortlisted as finalists for the prestigious 2026 International Public Relations Association (IPRA) Golden World Awards (GWA).
The campaigns, all executed by Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR) are entries for the the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Centre for Crisis Communication (CCC). The will be assessed by an international jury before winners are announced at a Gala Dinner in Athens, Greece, later in the year.
The CBN entry documents a strategic communication programme aimed at rebuilding public confidence in the apex bank following sweeping monetary and foreign exchange reforms under Governor Olayemi Cardoso.
The campaign, implemented through the CBN’s Corporate Communications Department, is credited with supporting improvements in investor sentiment, foreign reserves, exchange rate stability, and Nigeria’s return to the Eurobond market.
NITDA and CCC entry centres on the establishment of a Crisis Communication hub – a national platform that emerged from a 107-page research project on artificial intelligence and crisis communication.
The hub now serves as a multi-stakeholder mechanism for monitoring fake news, tracking harmful narratives, and coordinating crisis response efforts across Nigeria.
The nominations fall under the Corporate Communication, AI for Crisis Management, and Publication categories of the awards, widely regarded as among the most prestigious in global public relations.
IMPR previously won the IPRA Golden World Award in 2025 for a project executed for the Nigeria Customs Service.
