The Presidency has debunked the rumor that President Bola Tinubu has replaced his Chief of Staff, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, with his Principal Private Secretary, Hakeem Muri-Okunola.
It said there is absolutely no truth to
the viral story circulating on social media, therefore, advised Nigerians to disregard it.
The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy,
Bayo Onanuga, who made the clarification in a statement on Thursday, said the Chief of Staff remains in his position.
Onanuga also disclosed that the Principal Private Secretary likewise remains in his role, stressing that Hakeem Muri-Okunola has not replaced Femi Gbajabiamila as Chief of Staff.
According to him, the viral claim was a fabrication by mischievous purveyors of fake news whose sole aim was to create disharmony within the government.
“We reiterate that news media should always verify their information before publishing or sharing on social media,” he submitted.
