
Nigeria’s female Basketball Team, D’Tigress has defeated its Malian counterpart to clinch fifth consecutive AfroBasket women title.
Nigeria defeated Mali on Sunday in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, in a nail-biting final, 64-78 to become the first country in Africa to win the title five times in a row.
D’Tigress dominated and conquered Africa, winning their 29th match without losing a single game since 2015.
President Bola Tinubu had earlier sent a presidential delegation led by the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Shehu Dikko, to encourage them.
According to him, the delegation represented the full weight of the nation’s national pride, belief, and support.
