Edo Decides: APC Urges Supporters To Disregard Fake Election Results In Circulation

By Sunday Etuka, Abuja

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has advised the electorate in Edo State to disregard the fake election figures and results being circulated on social media as collation is still in progress.

APC gave the advice in a statement issued late on Saturday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, Esq.

The party clarified that collation at the ward level is still ongoing and has yet to be concluded, stating that local government-level collation has yet to begin in most of the LGAs in the state, let alone be concluded.

It said, going by the Electoral Act, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is the sole authorised body empowered to collate results at the ward, local government, and state levels and to officially declare the result of the election.

While claiming that it is comfortably in an early lead, APC said as a responsible party, it would not attempt to preempt INEC’s conclusion of the election process and official declaration of final results.

Therefore, urged members of the public to disregard the attempted misrepresentation and await INEC’s final verdict on the election.
