The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has invited former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, for interrogation.
This may be related to how he carried out his work under the administration of late President Muhammadu Buhari.
Recall that late President Buhari appointed Abubakar Malami as the AGF and Minister of Justice in 2015 and reappointed him in 2019.
His first appointment came shortly after the 2015 presidential election and the second was in August 2019, during Buhari’s second term in office.
Confirming the anti-graft’s invitation in a post on his Facebook page on Friday, Malami said “This is to confirm that I have been invited by the EFCC.
“As a law-abiding and patriotic citizen, I hereby reaffirm my commitment to honour the invitation.
“I understand the spirit of accountability and transparency in public service – the principles that I both advocate and champion.
“Rooted in public service and in the spirit of transparency and accountability I am committed to sharing with the Nigerian public the developments as they unfold.”
