FAAN Attains ICAO Trainair Plus Gold Membership

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced its attainment of Gold Membership status of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Trainair Plus Programme.

This was made known in a statement signed by the authority’s Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection,Henry Agbebire on Tuesday.

FAAN said the certification was earned after successfully meeting ICAO’s stringent Trainair Plus requirements, a globally recognised benchmark for excellence in aviation training.

According to FAAN, the Gold Membership status is valid from January 1 to December 31, 2026.

The achievement reflects FAAN’s sustained commitment to global best practices, quality assurance, and the continuous professional development of aviation personnel.

It also underscores the Authority’s focus on strengthening human capital in line with international aviation standards.

According to FAAN, the certification is a testament to the dedication to human resource development championed by its Managing Director and Chief Executive, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku.

The ICAO Trainair Plus Programme provides a structured framework that ensures aviation training organisations meet high international standards in instructor competency, training delivery, and quality management systems.

By attaining the Gold Member status, FAAN has demonstrated full compliance with ICAO’s rigorous benchmarks, positioning the Authority as a leading aviation training institution not only in Nigeria but also across the African continent.

The recognition further reinforces FAAN’s strategic role in promoting safe, efficient and sustainable airport operations, while enhancing Nigeria’s standing within the global aviation community.
