Federal Fire Service Promotes 479 Officers

The Federal Fire Service has announced the promotion of 479 of its dedicated senior officers.

A statement on Thursday by the Service through its Public Relations Unit, said the promotion which took effect from 25th September 2024, recognizes the outstanding efforts and service of these firemen, whose commitment to safeguarding lives and property has been exceptional.

The statement said that the promotions aim to further strengthen the nation’s capacity for firefighting and emergency response.

Officers of the Service that were promoted include, 23 Deputy Controllers of Fire, 6 Assistant Controllers of Fire, 91 Chief Superintendents of Fire, 158 Superintendents of Fire, 13 Deputy Superintendents of Fire, 96 Assistant Superintendents of Fire I, and 92 Assistant Superintendents of Fire II.

The Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Engr. Jaji Abdulganiyu, who congratulated the newly promoted officers, stated that the promotions are a testament to the hard work, dedication, and sacrifice exhibited by the officers, adding that their roles are pivotal in ensuring the safety of our communities, and this recognition is well deserved.

“The Federal Fire Service remains committed to enhancing its workforce and infrastructure to meet the ever-growing demands of fire safety and disaster management across the country. The newly promoted officers are expected to assume their new roles and responsibilities with immediate effect and will continue to receive the support and resources necessary to excel in their duties”, the statement said.
