The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has approved 140 as the minimum admissible score into universities in the country.
This was announced on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at this year’s Policy Meeting on Plans and Modalities for the Conduct of Admissions to Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria held in Abuja.
The meeting comprising of Vice Chancellors of Universities, Rectors of Polytechnics, and Provosts of Colleges of Education Registrars agreed that only those who scored 140 and above in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination should be considered for admission into the nation’s universities.
Similarly, they pegged the minimum admissible score into the nation’s Polytechnics and Colleges of Education in the country at 100.
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede further announced that Scratch cards for Post UTME screening should not exceed 2,000naira.
Oloyede explained that the Board would give the institutions free access to candidates’ photograph, biometric and other useful information so as to reduce financial burden on them.
