The newly appointed Super Eagles’s Coach, Finidi George, has stepped down.
This development was made known on Saturday by the former Super Eagles media officer, Toyin Ibitoye, in a post on X.com.
Ibitoye wrote, “News just in. Finidi George #FinidiGeorge_FG has resigned from his #NGSuperEagles manager position.”
Recall that Finidi was appointed as Head Coach of the Super Eagles on May 13, 2024 by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
He took over from the former Coach, Jose Peseiro whose contract ended in February, after serving as his assistant for 20 months.
His resignation could be due to the rumour that the NFF was shopping for a Foreign Coach after his abysmal performance in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic.
