FMC Kafanchan, Orthopedic Hospital Hawul Get New MDs

In line with its commitment to improve access to quality healthcare services, the Federal Ministry of Health & Social Welfare has appointed new Medical Directors (MDs) for the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Kafanchan and Orthopedic Hospital Hawul.

The development was announced in a statement issued by the Deputy Director
Information and Public Relations of the Ministry, Alaba Balogun on Sunday.

The new MDs are Dr. Haruna Shehu, Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Kafanchan, Kaduna State and, Dr. Ali Ramat, Medical Director, National Orthopedic Hospital Hawul, Borno State.

Speaking during the brief ceremony, the Minister of State for Health & Social Welfare Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako said the President expected the highest level of dedication from the newly appointed Medical Directors.

“These are new hospitals, so obviously you will face some teething problems: and Kafanchan is very very special to Mr. President because of his keen interest in that part of Kaduna State. You know he has also established a Federal University in that Senatorial district in view of his special interest.

“I urge you to charge forward with unwavering dedication and, determination towards projecting the agenda of Mr. President in the health sector. Relate very well with all the stakeholders in the community, they are the owners of those facilities, so let us relate very well with them.

“Of course, you should also relate very well with the Ministry through the Hospital Services Department. So, being the Chief Medical Director of a new facility, which could be demanding, I believe you are up to the task. My prayer is that you will succeed in every ramifications”, he said.

In his vote of thanks, Dr. Haruna Shehu expressed their sincere gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, for the appointment and, trust reposed in them.

He pledged their dedication and commitment to excellence in ensuring the agenda of Mr. President for the health sector is achieved.
