Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has approved the appointment of Dr. Akwonya Comfort Adadu as the Director-General of the Benue State Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).
Adadu, an indigene of Benue state who hails from Ado Local Government was a Senior Lecturer with the Benue State University, Makurdi before her appointment.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Benue State Governor, Sir Tersoo Kula in a statement on Monday said, her appointment takes immediate effect.
Meanwhile, the Governor has also approved the appointments for council members of Benue State’s own tertiary institutions, as follows:
(a) Benue State University – Sir Paul Chukwuma—Chairman/Pro-chancellor.
(b) Benue State Polytechnic, Ogbokolo – Dr. Demian Anyam – Chairman
(c) College of Education, Oju – Prof. Member George-Genyi
(d) College of Education, Katsina-ala – Prof. Uketor Gabriel Moti – Chairman
(e) Akawe Torkula Polytechnic, Makurdi – Prof. Okpe O Okpe – Chairman
(f) Akperan Orshi Polytechnic, Yandev – Dr. Victoria Pila – Chairman.
(g) College of Health Technology, Agasha – Dr. Bem Vangerwua – Chairman.
Sir Kula said, the Governor believes the appointed individuals who are carefully selected based on their records of service and wealth of experience would be able to deliver and make the tertiary institutions top-notch in the country.
While congratulating and wishing the new appointees a fruitful stay in the office, Governor Alia charged them to permanently put the interest of the state first in all their official engagements.
