How Kebbi Police Neutralized Suspected Lakurawa Bandit

The Kebbi state Police Command says its operatives have eliminated one out of a gang of suspected Lakurawa bandits who, armed with sophisticated weapons, invaded Kwagware village in Arewa LGA of the state.

The state command’s Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Abubakar, stated on Thursday, that the armed gang invaded the village on Wednesday 5th November, 2025, rustled unspecified number of cows and dispossesed the villagers of their mobile phones.

Upon receiving information on the unfortunate incident, the Divisional Police Officer in Yeldu, aggressively mobilized a combined team of policemen and local vigilantes, pursued the bandits and engaged them into a fierce gun duel, during which one of them was neutralized, while many fled into the forest with possible fatal gunshot wounds.

Similarly, one unregistered Boxer motorcycle was set ablaze by the jubilating mob and one Tecno mobile phone was also recovered at the scene.

The PRO ssid that following the tremendous achievement, additional police tactical units, military personnel and local vigilantes have been deployed to the affected area to restore normalcy, apprehend and neutralize the fleeing members of the suspected terror group as well as prevent reprisal attacks.

This is even as the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Bello M Sani charged the combined team of additional security personnel to decisively continue to deal with the members of the terror group across the state and maintain the already existing synergy amongst them with a view to ensuring the total elimination of criminals in the state.
