I’ll Focus On Revenue Mobilisation, Fiscal Discipline -Oyedele

The Minister of State for Finance, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, has stated that in his new role as a Minister, he would focus on efforts to strengthen revenue mobilisation, promote fiscal discipline, and ensure that public resources translate into real improvements in the lives of Nigerians.

Mr. Oyedele stated this while expressing his sincere gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, for the trust and confidence placed in him, and to the Senate for confirming his nomination as the Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He posted this on his official X handle on Monday, shortly after his sworn in as the Minister of State for Finance by President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Oyedele said that the appointment was not merely a personal milestone, but a call to greater service. Noting that Nigeria faces important fiscal challenges, but also immense opportunities. Saying: “The decisions we make in public finance today will shape the prosperity, stability, and well-being of our country for generations to come.”

He said he looks forward to working more closely with the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, colleagues across government, the National Assembly, private sector, and development partners to advance the mission of financing Nigeria for sustainable development.

While stating that public service demands integrity, humility, and dedication, Oyedele said he steps into this responsibility with a deep sense of duty and commitment to Nigeria and the Nigerian people.

He thanked everyone who has supported and encouraged him along the journey, saying he would be counting on their continued support.
