A Deputy Director with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Mr Jamilu Jauro, has been awarded a N15m prize for having the best project at the Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) 17 of the National Institute for Security Studies (NISS).
This was contained in JAMB’s weekly bulletin on Monday.
According to the bulletin, Jauro emerged as the overall best participant in the EIMC 17 project and was honoured as a Fellow of the Security Institute (FSI) on December 7, 2024.
It said the theme for EIMC 17 was “Artificial Intelligence, Security, and Emerging Economies in Africa, Challenges and Prospects.”
The course attracted participants from 28 Nigerian agencies and seven agencies from five African countries, including Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, and Rwanda.
Participants, who are senior public servants at the Deputy Director level or its equivalent in the armed forces will undergo a rigorous ten-month programme at the institute.
Successful candidates will be awarded the Fellow Security Institute (FSI) designation, contingent upon their performance in learning and character.
The course aims to equip participants with the knowledge necessary to tackle complex security challenges in their respective agencies and countries as well as fostering inter-agency synergy and international collaboration.
The NISS was established to be a leading training centre for security studies, research, capacity building and staff development for the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian intelligence community.
