
The Katsina state Police Command has presented the sum of N78,508,879.04 in cheques to various families of deceased personnel of the Force who lost thier lives during active service.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Administration, DCP Aminu Gusau, made the presentation on Friday on behalf of the Commissioner in the state, CP Aliyu Musa.
The presentations were made to the next of kin of thirty-six (36) beneficiaries of group life insurance, group personal accident, and Inspector General of Police family welfare insurance schemes.
In his remarks, CP Musa appreciated the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, for his magnanimity towards the families of the deceased police officers who paid the supreme price while in active service to the nation.
He then called on the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money so as to meet the objective of the scheme, which is to provide succor to the families left behind by the officers, as he prayed for the repose of the departed souls.
Babangida Adamu Daura, one of the beneficiaries speaking on behalf of all the beneficiaries, thanked the IGP for the kind gesture and promised to make good use of the money for the betterment of their lives as he prayed for God’s guidance over the leadership of the command and the Force in general.
