The Minister of Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, and the Minister of Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, have been scheduled to speak at the 2026 edition of the Nigeria International Energy Summit.
Other speakers scheduled for the Summit, holding in Abuja from 2-5th February, 2026 are: the Secretary General of Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Haitham AI Ghais, Minister of Energy, Petroleum & Mining, Republic of Senegal, Birame Diop, and the Immediate Past Secretary General of the African Petroleum Producers Organisation (APPO), Dr. Farouk Ibrahim.
Also, at the event, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, would be delivering the National Sponsor Address.
The Summit, convened under the theme: “Energy for Peace and Prosperity: Securing Our Shared Future,” provides a critical platform for constructive dialogue and decisive action.
According to the Event Director/ Chief Executive Officer of Brevity Anderson- organisers of the Summit, Dr. James Shindi, the NIES 2026 was designed not only to exchange ideas, but to catalyse partnerships, unlock capital, and advance practical solutions that align energy with peace, resilience, and shared prosperity.
At the Summit, Senator Lokpobiri would highlight the ongoing reforms, commitment to policy stability and transparency, as Nigeria offers a compelling environment for responsible investment across the upstream, midstream, and downstream value chain.
In a post on his X handle, the Minister said the NIES 2026 presents a valuable opportunity to engage investors and industry leaders on unlocking value, enhancing energy security, and driving sustainable development.
Over 5,000 participants, including Very Important Personalities (VIPs), Delegates and Visitors are expected at the Summit.
