Man Excretes 77 Wraps Of Cocaine At Enugu Airport -NDLEA

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) attached to the Akanu Ibiam International Airport have arrested a man for ingesting 77 pellets of cocaine.

The Agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Mr. Femi Babafemi, disclosed this Sunday, 14 August, via a statement, while reviewing the Agencies activities in the last week.

TheFact Daily gathers that the suspect, 50-year-old Mgbeobuna Victor Eberechukwu, from Idemili South LGA of Anambra State, was arrested on Saturday, 6 August, 2022, upon his arrival from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, onboard a Ethiopian airline flight.

He has since expelled the 77 wraps of the illicit drug in eight excretions within four days of being under the custody of the NDLEA.

On the same day, a consignment containing 1.45kg of cannabis concealed inside granulated melon and crayfish, and packed among other food condiments, going to Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, UAE, was intercepted by anti-narcotics officers. The officers arrested the freight agent, Ajesifini Lateef, who presented the cargo for export at the SAHCO shed of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.

Babafemi further disclosed the interception by the Agency’s operatives, of 442 parcels of crystal methamphetamine, wrapped in foil paper, concealed in heads of smoked catfish packed in 7 cartons for export to Dubai in UAE, also through the SAHCO shed of the MMIA.

The consignment which weighed 11.9kg, was brought to the SAHCO export shed of the airport on Friday, 5 August, 2022, by a freight agent, Adekunle Oluwapelumi Paul, from Yagba West LGA of Kogi State, who was promptly arrested upon discovery of the illicit substance.
