Maritime Security: UN Ambassador Hails Nigerian Navy

The United States Ambassador to Nigeria, Ambassador Richard Mills, has commended the Nigerian Navy’s efforts at securing the maritime environment and combating all forms of crime in the maritime domain.

According to the NN in a post on their Facebook page on Saturday, the ambassador gave the commendation on Friday when he paid a courtesy call on the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral MB Hassan, at the Headquarters Western Naval Command Conference Room, Apapa, Lagos.

The visit was aimed at strengthening the bilateral relations between Nigeria and the United States.

In his remarks, the ambassador noted that the successes recorded by the NN, particularly the giant strides made at delisting Nigeria from the list of piracy prone countries, is a testament to unrelenting efforts and hard-work of the NN.

Ambassador Mills was accompanied by the Political Chief Michael Ervin, Navy Program Officer, Lieutenant Commander Danielle Garbarino, and other officials of the Embassy.
