MNDD Reiterates Commitment To Improved Living Standards For Niger Delta Region

The Ministry of Niger Delta Development (MNDD) has reiterated its commitment to any initiative, strategy geared towards improving the living standards of people of the Niger Delta Region.
The Permanent Secretary (PS) , Dr. Shuaib Belgore stated this during the presentation of the harmonized draft copy of the Strategic Master Plan for the Niger Delta Region by the consultant in Abuja, according to a statement made available on Thursday by the ministry’s Chief Information Officer, Boroh Joseph.
The permanent Secretary said the readiness of the draft copy of the Master Plan that was presented, is a testament to the ministry’s determination to improve the Socio- economic outlook of the Niger Delta Region in line with the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He charged the management team and Stakeholders to pay attention to the details of the presentation and make meaningful contributions when necessary.
In his remarks, the Executive Director Finance and Account NDDC, Alabo iyaye recounted that the commission was given the mandate to harmonize the various developmental plans in the region, earlier this year by the Ministry.
He said In actualizing the directive, the commission appointed consultants to come up with a reviewed harmonized Strategic Master Plan for the Niger people.
According to the consultants,Atei beredugo and Dr. Charles achodo the vision adopted in the review was to promote the well-being of the people of the region, while accelerating sustainable development, pursuing a region that is environmentally prosperous, politically peaceful and ecologically regenerative.
He further noted that the review policy is built around seven (7) Pillars which includes, Economic Development, Social Development, Sustainable Environment, Infrastructure Development, Governance, Finance and Security ( law and order).
